Northern Alliance goes AoC

15.12.07

Bye WoW?

It was never officially said that we broke apart as a guild because it was to sorrow for us to put up such news, however that is the fact. After playing the (MC -> Ony -> Kazzak/Azuregos -> BWL -> Emerald Dragons -> AQ40 -> Nax-> Kara -> Gruul -> Mag -> SSC) ride together it was enough. So the wow part of Northern Alliance has been apart since early June and will never come back.

.

Due to lack of pve progression for several weeks it was doomed to happened, we had survived several crises alike but this one was the last the officers and members could handle. The game was getting old and not worth all the hassle to stay hardcore. Anything else than hardcore we could just not cope with so we stopped playing as a guild fully. With the exception of some grouping heroic farmers left in the guild on Boulderfist!!

First 25-man raid-boss downed! 04.02.07, 23:19
With lots of potions and flasks we went into Gruul's Lair to take a glimpse of the first boss, also known as the "High King Maulgar" (a somewhat misleading name for this ugly ogre).

After 4 hours of tries on the first raid to Gruul's Lair with not even everyone level 70 yet, we stopped and went home without shiny epics.
The week after with everyone level 70 and fresh courage we did dare to go into Gruul's Lair again, and this paid us off with a kill on the ogre at around 22pm.

Anyways, here's a screenshot:

And finally, the loot:
Zappis - [Pauldrons of the Fallen Defender]

The giant mushroom, Mr. Loatheb has been killed. Tears, sweat and blood has been sacraficed for this kill, mostly blood on our several <10~% wipes, but that couldnt stop us, after some try's with flasks(27 of them infact), we went for a tour around world of warcraft for zg buff, onyxia buff. We went back into the dreaded citadel of Kel'thuzad and one shotted Loatheb.

Just before the killshots, i would like to present all of you, How to win in Naxx

Abomination Wing cleared 09.09.06, 17:06
After two resets of struggling with low signs due to the migration we managed to pull our self together with some fresh blood, and the result where first attempt kills on Patchwerk, Grobbulus, Gluth and a good chunk of tries on Thaddius. The next day, we closed his circuit after a dramatically 1% almost wipe!

Here is the moment of truth, NOT FAKE:

Northern Alliance migrating to Boulderfist 21.08.06, 23:49
A goodbye from Northern Alliance

We have decided after our second round of migrate discussion that we will move away from Ravencrest, due to several reasons, but the main reason is the fact that Ravencrest have always been a laggy crappy server and how it has been lately has been the breaking point. We are aware of the new hardware coming, and that the lag probably goes away, but as I said, we got several reasons to migrate and we are many tripping on our toes exciting to come to a new realm.

I wish all the remaining guilds good luck, and hopefully you’ll be able to run Naxxramas smoother when the new hardware arrives.

[ Missing goodbye imagine here :( ]

Now over to the pre-migration recruitment we are running:

Are you tired of getting nowhere? Do you want to raid everyday as a hardcore and dedicated gamer? Are you willingly to sacrifice some cash? And above all, do you want to get away from Ravencrest?

Then we now offer you a chance to come with us to the Boulderfist realm as a tryout in the guild, where you will be given enough time to prove yourself as a member, and enough time so we can make 100% sure you get a fair treatment as off the fact that you are migrating with us. However, you have to be certain you can live up to our standards, because if you don’t, you won’t have a future in northern alliance. Therefor i want to underline the qualifications you need: Hardcore, Dedicated, Active. Without them, you wont make it as an hardcore raider.

This is an offer mainly aimed at friends of current guild members, but anyone is welcome to get a tryout as long as you fill out a standard application and pass our requirements. We need a good player base for the migration to ensure the survivability of the guild and capability of raiding after the migrate, so if you are an active, dedicated and skilled player, and are willingly to take a risk to get into a hardcore environment. Then read here: http://www.na-guild.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1776 and make an application, Hidden or Public.

We will be fully migrated within a few days.

Greets,
Andriod,
Guild Master of Northern Alliance

Viscidus down, whole Temple of Ahn'Qiraj 40 officially cleared with not a single hostile mob left to gief epix! It has been delayed for months now because we have been focusing on Naxxramas, but we gave it a shot after an Ouro kill and killed him within 3hours of attempts.

Recruiting Healers 04.08.06, 03:47
2

I am adding this news to underline that we are actively looking for druids and priests to our member base. So if you are a healing-minded druid or priest that are looking for a hardcore pve guild, with raids everyday. Then don’t hesitate with writing an application as we are in need of 5+ healers as it is now.

I will not determine exact requirements --as we consider each case by itself-- except what you can find on our Application Guidelines topic, but raid experience and good gear is a huge plus.

NOTE: We except a HIGH level of dedication from our members and a HIGH activity, where playing 30hours a week is almost a must.

You can check the updated list of what classes we are recruiting here.
Grobbulus and Gluth down as well! 02.08.06, 05:32
A fine instance week for Northern Alliance, 3 new boss kills Patchwerk -> Grobbulus -> Gluth all learned, overcome and killed. As well as more than 25 Titan Flasks used. :)

Grobbulus was downed at monday on first try showing what a freeloot he is, we used the rest of the raid to test out Gluth, but sadly we didnt kill him that day. Tuesday after a relative quick bwl run (oh oh! 1hour and 34min!) we went Naxxramas again and attempted Gluth, ending with the kill. We ended the raid with an insane first Thaddius attempt at 96%! Zamg!

Grobbulus was downed: 31st of July 2006 @ 1950 CET by Northern Alliance.

Gluth was downed: 1st of August 2006 @ 2350 CET by Northern Alliance.

Patchwerk lost 31.07.06, 03:32
Yeah that’s right, Patchwerk wanted to play and we gave him a real play, as originally as that sounds! At the 9th attempt this 2nd raid day on him we got him down, with 4 full potions attempts behind us I can conclude with that this was one expensive fucking kill, and we will have to do it all over again next reset. I am even looking forward to it, as the fun and challenging fight it is (for us healers at least).

With Patchwerk down we headed Grobbulus next on overtime raiding and got him down to < 20% a few times and once all the way down to 6% once, but we was tiered and ended it there.

Patchwerk was downed: 30th of July 2006 @ 2325 CET by Northern Alliance.

Instructor Razuvious down 29.07.06, 02:20
It has been a busy period, so the news has been a bit delayed on this one. Either way: Instructor Razuvious was downed as our 5th Naxxramas boss, for the first time 3 resets ago and we have now killed him 3 times, making him pretty much a boss on farm status for us.

Spider Wing cleared! 15.07.06, 14:58
After a very good start this reset with Anub and Faerlina relatively easily downed and a few attempts on Maexxna at the Wednesday 12/07 Naxxramas raid we went strong in at the Thursday Naxxramas raid where we attempted Maexxna for the third time. After an hour of refining our tactic on here, thing just worked out and we kiieeld here. Funny part is that we did not spend any extra potions, battleress or did a lollerdevine trick as it first seemed like a wipe, but hey I was wrong believing that. However we used 3 Shield Wall's on our main tanks that unfortunately had to die in the progress of this kill! <3 LeilaCastortroyElijae.

So for the statistical cause: Spider Wing and Noth the Plaguebringer cleared after a total of 11Naxxramas raids of an average of 4hours each with a total of 9 boss slain. Where 5 [Splinter of Atiesh] have been looted to our very own Protex.

That’s right; the so-called kite encounter called Anub'Rekhan was overcome and Anub was downed last night 2130CET the 25th of June on our second Naxxramas raid day, just after a few attempts. I must say that this encounter was a really nice start of Naxxramas, that is not to gear or potion based and rather fun to play. Additionally we cleared to Noth the Plaugebringer and got to take a shot at him before we continued with 35 quite tired people to test out the Abomination Wing trash mobs. FUNFUN? Sure was!

That’s right! We got our first C’Thun kill the 26th of May 2006, 23:30 CET!
After several weeks of wiping and with relative slow progress we started out yesterday’s raid with the thought that it would be yet another wipe-training day, but oh god we where wrong there!

The second last try within the raiding time we got him down to 64%, something that was a huge step forward. The next try everything worked out as good as we could ask for and we got C’Thun down with 8 people dead, where only 5 titans and 4 zandalar potions where used!

Attempting Ouro next.

Twin Emperor’s is Deaded!! 25.04.06, 15:58
Thats right, I used the term deaded! Deaded I say!

Emperor Vek'nilash + Emperor Vek'lor was killed (strangely enough) at the same time 18 april 2006 by Northern Alliance, yet a step forward in blizzard’s task to make us spend time killing electronic bugs!

If my calculation is correctly, this makes us the 5th guild to loot epics from the Twin Emperor’s on Ravencrest within 2months after the opening of Ahn’Qiraj.

Temple of Ahn'Qiraj status 18.03.06, 05:30
WEEK 1

The first reset aq40 was opened we managed to do a very decent rush all the way to Princess Huhuran and got her under 15%, good first week for us and we was looking forward to next reset with more mounts and more attempts on Huhuran.

3

WEEK 2-3

Second and third reset week after aq40 opening was a huge fallback, after multiple cancelled training attempts because of lack of signs we figured we had to recruit more players, this was a big defeat for us since this made 5 other guilds on the server beat us to the Princess Huhuran first kill.

Either way, in the third reset week after we had settled a few new members and cleaned up some bad fruit as I would call it, we finally managed to down Princess Huhuran Sunday the 12th Marsh (to get the dates correct).

3

WEEK 4

Right now we are in our forth aq40 week and attempting the Emperors, after 2 freaking hours clearing and learning the hard way how to actually not die on the trash mobs we was at the Emperors. With that we managed to get settled 1hour of attempts on them and reaching an stunning amount of 5% damage on them. Luckily us the trashmobs will respawn for the next time we enter aq40, MORE MOUNTS!

Recruiting healers and hunters 11.03.06, 03:49
We are looking for more healers to join us in the fight against C’Thun and whatnot that can be killed in upcoming events; this includes all the healer classes, priests, druids and paladins. We are also looking for more hunters. So if your interested in joining and is one of these for classes, then write an application and post it on our Forum. If you wish to make a hidden application then contact Flashback or Andriod in game.

Note: No classes except rogues are totally locked for recruitment at the moment, so if you feel you’re up for it I urge you to write an application no matter what class you are. Remember to check our forums often for status on recruitment, it can change from week to week, dependant on recent events in the guild.
MC done kwikk! 24.02.06, 15:19
Huzzah! At last I got something fresh to put on our news-page! Molten Core has officially been done within 1hour, 27min and 40sec by Northern Alliance!

Yeah, after almost 9months of raiding in Molten Core we figured, what the hell, let’s just try one of this so-called speed attempts before we head for Ahn’Qiraj and its sexy repair bills. One test attempt and a respective amount of buff farming later we were ready! So, our time from first giant pull to ragnaros kill was pretty exactly 1hour, 27min and 40sec. Not going to comment if it is a good or bad time world-wise since thats impossible to know for sure, but we were all pleased about it, and had a big smile on our face when we where done. We even killed ragnaros before sons! :)

Far from that everything was like our regular crap molten core clears, 12 epics that were needed, still stuck with 3 left parts of [Bindings of the Windseeker], and we just got our 14th Sulfuron Ingot but [Eye of Sulfuras] has yet to be seen.

Either way, I advise all guilds to try a speed attempt, since it’s the absolutely best way of trying to make Molten Core fun and maybe a bit challenging.

Week 45, BWL. 5 first boss kills and a dead puppy (not one you cry about) 14.11.05, 01:42
We started this week with hopes on getting down Broodlord, and maybe even Firemaw. We've had some slow progress so far so we didn't really know what to expect this week.

The first day went killing off Razoregore the Tamed and Vaelastrasz, no big issue there.
[Bindings of Transcendence] for Allstar. [Stormrage Bracers] for Hobbit. [The Untamed Blade] for Darlica. [Dragonstalker's Belt] for Milleus. [Waistband of Wrath] for Darlica and Hobbit entred godmode as he got the item of his dreams: [Rune of Metamorphosis] (kek)

After the second day of attempts we got down the lootlord, which was really awesome due to us already hating those damned supression rooms.

4

[Judgement Sabatons] [Black Brood Pauldrons]

Andriod and Guts are the happy wearers of the palaydan boots, and Imril the palaydan got the Pauldrons.

Next up was Firemaw, with only using 2 days to get down the lootlord we were excited about our further BWL progress, and we really wanted to see if we could take down this one as well.
Using a secret combination of imbashields and hearthstones we killed this dragon in only 2 days as well. Go us!

4

We didnt really remember to take a good shot of him, so this will do! :)
He dropped [Gauntlets of Wrath] for Elijae and [Cloak of Firemaw] for Roseblack.

So far so good, on our next raid day we got this brilliant idea: How about if we own every boss up to Nefarian? So we did! :D

First boss to bite the dust and roll over were Ebonroc, took him at first try with almost no deaths. We thought for a second that some bug had happened and that we somehow had gotten a normal Burning Steppes dragon in BWL. Anyway, time to flash the phats.

4

[Nemesis Gloves] went to Despot and [Band of Forced Concentration] went to imba-tuor. Also we had a little random purple showing up while clearing: [Ringo's Blizzard Boots]. This well-named item went to imba-tuor as well! Grats!

With bloodtaste in our mouth we look at Flamegor flying happily around having no idea what he had comming. After 2 whipes we got tired of playing and showed him that we were serious. Second dead dragon for the day. /waev

4

[Drake Talon Pauldrons] went to Heimdall, and [Dragon's Touch] went to Allstar.

Now, dear reader I know you're thinking: "Zomg, wow, all this in one week", but it dont stop there. We decided to take on the infamous Chromaggus, tbh he scared the shit out of us the first attempt and he mauled us at 88&. After getting back on track we take him down to 78%. Some back and forward gave us an attempt where the puppy-of-death whiped us at 44%. We then proceeded to whipe at 1%, then on next try Chromaggus whiped /cheer.

4

[Judgement Spaulders] for Andriod, [Bloodfang Spaulders] for Cyon, [Angelista's Grasp] for Despot and lastly [Shimmering Geta] for Lanababz.

That equals: 20 BWL epix in 1 week and 5 first kills. I'm very, very proud of this weeks work and I think Neffy needs to hire some more guards for next week! :D
First full MC ever 07.11.05, 22:30
Today we set NA history again as we clear MC from Lucifron to Ragnaros without whipes. The time was stopped at 4 hours and 15 mins. Grats to us, and a /soothe to the nice, dead guys in Molten Core.

Another piece of NA history was made when we _FINALLY_ got our first imba-2hander.

Huge grats to Elijae for getting the [Bonereaver's Edge]
Vael down, broodlord to go! 02.11.05, 01:07
After being pumped up by a time record run in MC we decided that we owned enough to just go kill Vaelstratz. He's been giving us so much duraloss that we simply don't like him anymore. So after a few tries we had a dead dragon and 40 happy raiders. Woohoo!

4

We got some good loot from him.
[Helm of Endless Rage] This baby went to Leila.
[Belt of Transcendence] And this one went to Lanababz
...and we got some bad :(
[Judgement Belt] And this went to Andriod.
Grats to you guys o/
Nothing is like the smell of a dead dragon and 40 strong sweaty men:>

Now we're going to take down that Broodlord.

Our first trashmob encounter in BWL resulted in EPIX!

[Boots of Pure Thought] This beauty went to Trulle! Grats!

After a hell of traps, spawns and mobs we finally found our way to this nice guy. Some pretty powerful Mortal Strikes from him. We haven't quite been able to kill him yet, our record is 69% (kinky). Anyway we haven't gotten that many tries yet but I suspect he'll be another corpse within a few days.

NA DIES... AND COMES BACK TO LIFE

Woohoo! Finally something else than lag in BWL raids! After some shitload of lag we literally DROPPED DEAD, and came back to life on another server. A new world to explore, gank and spread our propaganda in! After some hardcore grinding on who could reach the level top Nightwonders came out as the winner. Grats to him!

From left to right our heroes are: Elijae, Nightwonders (Imba level 6), Hobbit, Tobby, CastorTroy, Heimdall, Andriod, Kanin and Protex!

Other than that I have nothing useful to add, see you guys later!
News update! 17.10.05, 02:36
So, you ask what has NA done since Monday, August 22. It's quite alot so get ready to read, alot.

Let me start up by telling you about BWL.

2 weeks ago, on Saturday, October 2, we took down Razorgore. After many, many bitter hours and hard work we could finally see the guy dying by our hands. The loot were good:

5

Congratulations to Nimbuz, Farmerjoe and Tuor for getting their filthy hands on the first BWL epix in guild.

We got in a few very good tries on Vaelstratz (17%) on our first tries, but we ended up getting wtfpwned by all the fire damage. We gave him a promise that we had to go get some better fire protection clothing before we came to play with him again. As of today we're ready to take him on and I can already smell dead dragons in the air.

Next up is Zul'Gurub and the god Hakkar.

Without really having big problems with any of the bosses except Jin'Do the Hexxar, we went straight to Hakkar. The Blood God proved to be a though fight, and we got the tactics right pretty quick. We got in a few good tries but we didnt manige to perform the tactics right so we had a best try at 40-50%ish. To our suprise we didn't get any loot at 50%, so we decided that killing him were a good plan. We went back, opened a can of whoopass on him and that resulted in epix!

5

5
Grats to Tuor with the hero charm and grats to Despot with the neck!

Other than that I can proudly state that NA has joined the Onyxia dualfarm club. Splitting up in 2 small raids to get more loot and cash from the puny dragon. Our paladins can be happy that 3 of the 4 helms that dropped were Judgement, and the rest of us can sit and wonder why the buffbots needs purples anyway.

You'll see more news being updated now, and with a new ZING to them, and that's due to me (Mr. Dall) taking the job of writing this.
